Every single year wide receivers amaze us with some insane moves and catches. They are arguably some of the most athletic players on the field with their length and speed.
Now that the class of 2020 is old news, let's look at some of the best class of 2021 WR prospects and 5 of their best plays.
Jayden Thomas | Pace Academy, Atlanta, GA
At number 5, we got Jayden Thomas. He is a 4-star recruit out of Atlanta, Georgia who is committed to Notre Dame. He got offers from other big-time schools such as Alabama and the University of Florida due to his insane play.
In the play we are going to show you he had two defenders on him. He somehow beat the first one with his 4.63 40 time and all that was left was the safety. That wasn’t enough and Jayden used his 6’1 athletic frame to high point the ball and come down with the catch for 30 yards.
Shadrach Banks | North Shore, Houston, TX
Up next we got Shadrach Banks out of Texas. He looked like Shady Mccoy in the play that got him onto the list.
He ran a quick 5 yard out route that saw him get wide open with room to work. He turned upfield and hurdled a defender. He didn’t stop there and followed that up with a juke move that sent the defender flying out of bounds. He ran for a couple more yards before he was pushed out of bounds at the two-yard line. Plays like this got him many offers to many of the top schools in the nation, but unfortunately for them, he is already committed to Texas A&M as a four-star recruit. Excited to see what he does next!
Deion Smith | Provine, Jackson, MS
Somehow following Shadrach up is the lanky Deion Smith. He is a 6’2 4-star prospect who is going to make his future LSU QB and coaches happy. Especially if he keeps making plays like the one that got him number 3 on our list.
In this play, he ran a simple go route and the QB threw a 50-50 ball. We might have to switch those percentages for Deion though because he rose and Mossed the defender. He somehow stayed on his feet and almost ran in for a touchdown before he was caught from behind. Whoever is his next Qb is going to have a lot of room for error if he keeps this up at the next level.
Brady Boyd | Southlake HS, South Lake, Texas
At number 2, we have this crazy 1 handed snag by Brady Boyd. The QB was getting pressured and was almost snagged before he threw one up to Brady.
Although it was a little overthrown it did not matter. Brady rose up and extended his body for a running one-handed catch and even picked up a couple of extra yards before he ran out of bounds. He is another prospect that is already committed. He will be taking his talents from Texas to Minnesota next year as a three-star prospect.
Kobe Paysour | Kings Mountain, Kings Mountain, NC
The next play rose above the rest. It was in a packed stadium, but Kobe Paysour rose to the occasion. He lived up to his name by showing some toe-drag-swag!
Kobe was running a fade route, but the cornerback was all over him. The Qb threw it to a spot where only Kobe could catch it. He lived up to his name by running back towards the ball making an insane sideline catch. There was no room for error, but he somehow managed to keep both feet inbounds. Kobe is a 3-star prospect who is already committed to North Carolina cause of plays like this which got him number 1 on this weeks list
