U.S. Ski & Snowboard has just launched the first Virtual World Flip League. The Virtual World Flip League (VWFL) is a friendly, virtual competition for athletes nationwide to qualify for the US Aerial Summer Nationals and try out for the US Aerial Team Project Gold Camps.
Winners in each age group and gender will be named at the end of the competition period, and podium athletes from each age group will be invited to attend the US Aerial Summer Nationals on Aug 26, 2023. Any athletes showing potential will be invited to attend one of the US Aerial Team Project Gold camps in either Lake Placid, NY, or Park City, UT.

How to Participate:
If you’re currently a U11 thru U19 athlete with a current paid-athlete membership, you may submit a video (see video submission guidelines) through this link to participate in the Virtual World Flip League.
Video submissions must follow the guidelines below to be accepted for the 2023 Virtual World Flip League. Jumps can be performed on water ramps, airbags, or foam pits. The only jumps that will be judged are Back Tuck (BT), Back Lay (BL), Back Full (BF), and Back Double Full (BDF).
Video Submission Guidelines:
- Cell phone video is acceptable, but the higher the quality, the better.
- If using a cell phone, please use a LANDSCAPE PERSPECTIVE (cell phone long ways) rather than a portrait perspective (cell phone up and down).
- Take the video from the side of the jump, ideally from a judge’s perspective.
- The video should include the jump's in-run, takeoff, and landing phases.
- Only live-speed videos will be accepted.
VFWL Submission Protocol:
Competition period for video submissions: July 1st, 2023 - Aug 6th, 2023
Age Classifications:
- U11 – ages 9 and 10
- U13 – ages 11 and 12
- U15 – ages 13 and 14
- U17 – ages 15 and 16
- U19 – ages 17 and 18
Jumps that are allowed for video submission:
- Back Tuck (BT)
- Back Lay (BL)
- Back Full (BF)
- Back Double Full (BDF)
Age Group Winners Named: August 6th
At the end of the competition period on August 6th, podium places will be awarded, and prizes will be sent to winners; all participants will receive recognition for their participation.
