GMTM Sent A Film Crew To The Show by Next Gen... And The Results Were Electric

A week ago, a few hundred of the top high school football prospects descended on IMG Academy in Orlando, Florida to showcase their skills in The Show by NextGen. Some of the best wideouts, quarterbacks, linemen and defensive backs from the Class of 2022 and beyond balled out for a few days under the sun.

And GMTM was there to catch it all.

Our film crew filmed 7-on-7 games from the sidelines and the field, documenting the best catches, the swaggiest celebrations, and most importantly - some film from a few of the next stars of the sport.

With skill players and defenses being split into over 20 teams for 7-on-7 exhibitions, every player had a chance to shine and land in our highlight tape. Three cameras wasn't enough to do the job, though, with some of the fastest feet and strongest arms connecting on all of IMG Academy's multiple practice fields.

But, the highlights we collected at the end of the day were - to be curt - just nasty. One handed grabs. No look throws dropped on a dime. Pick-sixes and even a few backflips.

Check out a few of our favorites:

The first was a straight dime from a STANDOUT 2022 QB prospect from Merrit Island, Florida. Davin Wydner delivered one on a rope to Victor Jones, Jr.

The second was an out of this world catch from Samuel Mbake. Not even the top corners in the nation could stop this class of 2022 prospect from getting into the endzone!

Then we saw some more from the quarterbacks at the Show, especially QB Kameron Burns. He was rising above the rest, throwing touchdown after touchdown after touchdown...

The fourth was an out of this world catch from Amari Niblack, who has an insane 11 college offers as a junior. He was doing his best Megatron impression with this insane catch he had at The Show.

Up next, Sherrod Covil Jr. has a warning for all of you quarterbacks. Don't throw it in his direction because he will take it back for 6.

Simultaneously, Lamar Patterson and Brandon Rogers were handling their own business on the other end of the field. This QB/WR combo could not be stopped all day, no matter what the defense was throwing at them.

Alongside them, Twan Anderson Jr. was making play all over the field with inhumane vertical jump. Twan went to sky high to set up an interception for his team.

Sometimes you just have to be at the right place, at the right time. Kameron Barnett was ready for anything, securing an int for his team after the WR dropped a pass.

The Show by NextGen is one of the most exciting camps for young players to attend featuring dozens of the top youth coaches, a stage for each camper to impress the scouts in attendance, and some very dope uniforms for each team to take home.

The camp welcomes elite 7th and 8th grade athletes and high school underclassmen - Freshmen and Sophomores. Of the 12,000 athletes NextGen has evaluated in the past few years, over 1,500 have received Division I scholarships.

While our film crew caught everything that was going on with the skill players and the 7-on-7 tournament, some of the top offensive and defensive linemen were clashing on the next field over. One-on-one drills with your peers, coaches, and scouts watching from all angles? Step right up.

The competition was high for every player, every day and it is camps like this that weed out the pretenders and elevate relatively unknown prospects to new heights.

If you want to earn an invite to one of NextGen's The Show 2020 in June, get your videos on your GMTM profile, share them, and gain attention from youth coaches and NextGen's camp staff. You can also upload your tape to the All State Preps Evaluation Page and be seen by 247 Sports Recruiting Analyst Ed O'Brien.
