Division-II HBCU LeMoyne-Owen Is Hosting Virtual Visits For Six Sports

Located in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, and founded before the American Civil War, LeMoyne-Owen College prides itself on its place in its community and exciting history of education. LOC athletics staff is eager to add to that historic brand and make the Magicians programs an example of innovation in athlete engagement and recruiting.

LeMoyne-Owen is planning to significantly increase its recruiting footprint with six Virtual Visits on GMTM. The virtual visits will take recruits behind the scenes of the athletic program and offer a chance for athletes from anywhere in the nation to engage with coaches and former players based in Memphis.

The six programs that LeMoyne-Owen is hosting the free, interactive visits for are:

  • Baseball
  • Men’s Basketball
  • Women’s Basketball
  • Men’s Track & Field / Cross-Country
  • Women’s Track & Field / Cross-Country
  • Softball

Each Virtual Visit will offer prospective athletes and their parents a chance to meet coaches, see the facilities, explore the campus, and fill out a questionnaire to help the coaching staff get a better idea of who they are.

LeMoyne-Owen College plays in Division-II’s Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a number of other HBCUs. Lemoyne-Owen, which is a private college, has the second-smallest enrollment in the SIAC with just under 1,000 students. It is the eighth smallest school among NCAA Division-II’s 300+ members.

LeMoyne-Owen’s small enrollment makes it an excellent option for student-athletes hoping to have a quality relationship with teachers and administrators. The school’s 26 programs of study and location just outside of Memphis’ bustling downtown help student-athletes get plugged into the community and discover opportunities outside of sports.

If you want to learn more about LeMoyne-Owen or get connected to any of the teams’ staff, check out their organization page HERE.
