Team USA and GMTM are partnering to create a Winter Sports Hub to allow high-performance staff, coaches and athletes to access educational resources, share information, and drive a Winter Sports Community.
The new Winter Sports Hub, which will open in 2023, will serve as a central location for active and aspiring athletes to gain knowledge and interact with Team USA coaches and trainers. Educational materials and virtual events will be accessible to all athletes for free.
Winter sports may seem hard to find when the snow isn’t on the ground. But, if you look closely, you’ll find that they are embedded in the fabric of many American communities. The Winter Sports Hub will make them even more visible, inviting athletes of all ages and stages to connect with Team USA coaches from anywhere.
Team USA has had a presence on GMTM for years, hosting innovative events like a digital combine for USA Bobsled that has sent over a dozen athletes to in-person development camps with the team. Other USOPC winter sports teams including US Ski & Snowboard, US Speedskating, and others are also engaging with athletes on GMTM.
The Winter Sports Hub will build on that trend of accessibility for new athletes with new Talent ID opportunities within the platform. You can check them out below:
- Team USA Winter Sports Athlete Registration: a virtual visit within the Hub, allows aspiring Olympic and Paralympic athletes to put their names and athleticism on display for Team USA staff.
- World Class Athlete Education: a virtual training opportunity that educates users on how the USOPC supports their team members throughout their careers.
